✎ I don't usually do a detail-oriented painting, simply because I've always liked more loose style. But recently I am more and more interested really detailed paintings, so I practiced one on 25% cotton watercolor paper. I was hoping 25% was enough because detailed paintings require less water and flat wash. However it was still a bit difficult to execute. I am going to try and practice another one on 100% cotton paper again, before going for a bigger piece I have in mind. I find sketching process is vastly more important for detail-oriented watercolors, which is a working process I am not used to. I used to think it's a tedious process... xD So I usually did more spontaneous paintings and I love how watercolor has its own mind on paper. Now I have to learn to love sketching process for the aesthetics in paintings I want to achieve. ♡
